Who thinks the NBA gave the championship to the Miami Heat?

Its about to be the playoffs so thats why this question is burning in my head. I watched the playoffs and finals every year and I think last year was a farce. I stopped counting after they put Dwayne Wade on the free throw line 20 times. In a lot of those games his free throws accounted for 50% of his points. And the Mavs weren't even touching him. I'm not a Heat or Mavericks fan, so I have no bias, but I just thought it was ridiculous. I feel sorry for Mark Cuban. His team never stood a chance! Against the Heat yes....but not against the Heat and the referees. It was an impossible mission. Now, true, superstars always get there fair share of "free" calls, but the NBA went WAY TO FAR in 2006. Thats my spin, whats yours?

Well, since you already gave away your opinion, I'm sure I won't get the best answer.

I was rooting heavily for the Mavericks. I love watching Dirk and gang play. And, I do think a LOT of calls went in favor of the Heat (as is often the case when Dwayne Wade's playing). However, I won't go so far as to say the league "gave" them the title. Face it...the Mavs choked. Wade became unstoppable and took over. I'm sure Dirk's going to be very hungry this offseason.

yeah the heat lucked out the calls were DEFINATELY going their way and when you got shaq on your team you will get the call in your favor EVERY SINGLE ******* TIME!!! Dwade got the call when another player brushed up against him thats a load of BS!!!

I could not agree more. It made me, as a fan (of nba basketball...not the heat or mavs), sick to watch. D Wade could have punched Dirk in the face, and they would have called a foul on Dirk. I can't believe that there was not more of a public outcry. It was Ridiculous! Shame on the NBA.
finally a guy who makes sense. i completely agree with you. i have been saying this all along. wade gets all the cheap @ss calls and he doesnt deserve half of them. i think he **** 97 FTs in that series. that is a ridiculous number i dont think jordan would even get that many. the refs love to kiss wades @ss. im sick of it. im so glad wade got injured, crying like a little puss needing a wheelchair because of an arm injury? wtf? you can still walk wade, no need for people wheeling you off. wade sucks and so do his commercials.

The NBA needs playoff series to go 6 or 7 games to generate revenue. I think that they saw the Mavs go up 2 - 0 and freaked out a bit. They started making some dumb calls, probably wanted to extend this series, maybe even get a game 7 out of it, but the truth is, by doing that, they also give the Heat all the momentum and the pressure goes back to the Mavs. It also forces the Mavs to basically tip toe around Wade because they know that if they breathe on him the wrong way, he gets 2 ft's. It's total bullsh*t! I'm not a Mavs fan either, but the refs influence the game more than they know. It's not just a series of bad calls, it changes everything when they do sh*t like that. Mavs should've won last year, they'll make up for it this year. The Heat won't even make the finals, Pistons/Mavs this year with the Mavs winning in 6 games.
I do Dwayne Wade averaged like fifty free throws a game and the other teams would get fouled really easily and there's no call. Some of those bad calls cost the Dallas Mavericks the game. I am a pistons fan and that is why I hate the Heat so much too.
I dont think the Heat were "given" the championship, they are an awesome team. Not that they are my favorite team or anything.D-Wade is an outstanding b-ball player.

The nba has gone to far the last two years in awarding the heat the trophy last year, and giving it to the spurs the year before. If there never was a brawl at the palace the Pistons repeat.
did you forget about the Detroit pistons. they have the best line up. only if the refs play fair!!
i got angry at the refs too. im one of those who were screamin the entire finals, cursin wade especially when a maverick is called for a foul. but i can't blame the refs. i mean, their work is gotta be hard. and i don't think they gave it to the heat. the mavs really screwed. the first honor goes to josh howard.he's the "timeout" guy.haha.. i've already accepted that fact, finally, after nine months of whining.im a big mavs fan ya know, but a game is a game, and one really has to lose. what's done is done, and all the mavs can do now is get back. face them and give them a hell of a beating!!
