basketball is a part of hip hop culture and urban culture. you'll rarely find a city these days that doesnt have more than its fair share of basketball hoops, outdoor courts, etc. because basketball is so entrenched in hip hop and urban culture, which happens to be predominantly black, you get a large percentage of blacks who aspire to, and eventually reach, the NBA. not to say that whites dont, but it's not rooted the same way as it is in the cities and in hip hop.
I heard that blacks are better at sports.

Blacks have been participating incollegebasketball for over a century. In early December 1891, Dr. James Naismith,a Canadian physical education student and instructor at YMCA Training School invented basketball. The first official game was played in the YMCA gymnasium on January 20, 1892 with nine players. There was an All African American league - (see. Harlem Globtrotters) in 1920's. Now times are different and there aren't multiple basketball leagues.

Also, there is a push in minority communities to play sports in order to make it to the pros. Sports have opened the doors for minorities during times when they are otherwise closed. Read your history with any sport....Especially the story of black athletes in baseball.

Find a more positive subject to waste your points on. If you want to find information, seek it out and READ for a change instead bringing others into your racially charged chatter.

Basketball is not a black game...it's a city game.

Historically, whoever has been the dominant ethnic/racial group in the inner cities has been the dominant group of players in basketball.

In the 1920s and 30s, Jewish people were the dominant ethnic group in the inner cities, and they also dominated basketball. It was said at the time that people thought that Jewish babies were born with a basketball in their hands, much the same as was said about blacks several decades later.

Starting in the 1940s and 50s, much of the Jewish population was able to leave the inner cities and ghettos and move into more suburban areas, and blacks from the south began to occupy the inner cities... blacks have dominated basketball since then.

Not much room for playing baseball or football in the inner cities, but there are tons of basketball courts.

But again, it has nothing to do with simply being black. It has to do with growing up in an area where basketball is played more than any other sport, and often is the ONLY sport played.

Because blacks get inspired more to join Professional Sports than anyother race and if u go to a city like Houston Brooklyn, etc...all u see is blacks playin basketball and not to say u wont see any whites because im not racist at all but thats just what u see. I think it's because Kenyans (of which many African-Americans are originated from) are predominately very long and thin. I would guess that's KG's ethnic origins, as well as a lot of the other players.
